Hello friends,

I wanted to let you know that I have a couple of readings in Vermont this month. The first is part of the Burlington Book Festival (http://www.burlingtonbookfestival.com) on September 14-16, which, if you live in or near Vermont, and love books, you should definitely come to. We are talking Chris Bohjalian, Joyce Carol Oates, Crystal Zevon, Archer Mayor and many, MANY more cool writers at venues throughout downtown Burlington. Check out their web site for the full schedule. I'll be at the Borders on Church Street on Saturday, September 15 at 10 am.

Then, on Wednesday, September 19 at 7 pm, I'm reading at the Jaquith Public Library (http://www.marshfield.lib.vt.us) in Marshfield Village. I was living in the hills of Marshfield when I wrote PROMISE NOT TO TELL, so I'm excited to go back and read at this great little library.

I've been editing, writing and thinking title-thoughts like a maniac the last two months. As I may have mentioned once or twice (a-hem), I have two new novels coming out next summer. They are both officially edited, and both officially have new titles. The young adult book for Dutton/Penguin about two outcast high school girls who fall in love is now called MY TIKI GIRL. And the suspense novel for Harper about a woman who witnesses a bizarre abduction in a small Vermont town is now called ISLAND OF LOST GIRLS. (The "GIRL/GIRLS" thing is a coincidence!) I'm really pleased with the way both books have turned out and their nice new monikers. Next up is copyediting and covers.

Thank you all so much for reading my book and being so supportive -- I'm still a bit in awe of it all. I hope to see some of you in the next couple of weeks!

Best,
Jennifer
