Fall update

31-Oct-2008

Hi friends,

Happy Halloween everyone! This is, and always has been, my favorite day of the year. It’s been awhile since I’ve sent out a newsletter (a few of you have even written to ask what’s going on and if you’re still on my list) but I’ve got a good excuse… I’ve been hard at work on my next book, DISMANTLED. It’s due out in June of 2009 and will be my first hardcover. It’s a little longer than my earlier books (which I know some of you have been asking for!) and full of twists, turns and surprises. The art department is working on a cover as we speak, and when I have a final version I’ll be sure to post it everywhere!

DISMANTLED is about a group of college students who call themselves the Compassionate Dismantlers and believe that true art is about taking things apart. At the end of the summer after graduation, their leader ends up dead. Ten years later, the remaining members are struggling to get on with their lives, but someone (or something) wants to remind them of their past crimes.

I continue to be humbled and some days, completely floored, by the response from you all to my work. If you emailed me and I haven’t responded, please accept my apologies. And know that I feel guilty. Really. I go through phases of being flooded, and I’ve told myself that in order to get the books done, I’ve got to put everything else on the back burner. I do read every email, so please know that your feedback is making all the difference. Some days, when the writing isn’t coming along that easily, your encouraging words are what gets me to my computer. Thank you.

I wish you all a safe and wonderful Halloween. Some folks say that this is the day when the veil between the world of the dead and the world of the living is the thinnest. So keep your eyes and hearts open – you never know what might happen.

Happy reading!

Jennifer
